ONEDAY - Woolacombe

ONEDAY

Spent the day in Woolacombe with Wavedreamer film-maker Richard Gregory shooting footage for his latest project "ONEDAY Woolacombe".

1Day-Woolacombe-02

Very early start was called for as I was needed to shoot sunrise surf session with the HD water rig. Clean chest high peelers suited the longboard crew who'd been assembled for the shoot, loads of local talent as well as a few Cornish interlopers. After a golden sunrise and a shed load of waves I was able to grab for the stills camera and grab some classic longboard action.

Over a good feed in Bar Electric we had a quick review of the pix and the guys selected their favourites before we suited up and headed to Combesgate for more HD water action.

The day ended on Barracaine beach sitting around the beach fire watching the stars........well done to everyone who came together to make this such a special day.

1Day-Woolacombe-27

Can't wait to see the footage and I'm assured by Richard, in front of numerous witnesses, that the movie will be ready before Christmas.

Visit the One day micro site for preview footage and updates.

We worked from 5 in the morning to 10 at night , Richard Gregory said “it was an intense day! thanks so much to all the surfers who took time out and days off of work to be there and to Mat, Jack, Rob, Stu, Gordon, Joel and Steve our camera men and production team who worked so hard on the day. Thanks also to Parkins estates and Woolacombe Parish Council for there support.”

Best described as a ‘scenic surf movie’ the film is a portrait of Woolacombe bay on that day, the surfing, beach life and surrounding scenery.

Post production work will start next week and the DVD will be available in November this year from local shops and from www.wavedreamer.co.uk

The ‘ONEDAY in Woolacombe’ soundtrack will be also be created in one intense day in the studio next month.

The extra’s on the ‘ONEDAY in Woolacombe’ DVD will feature some of the research and screen test material along with the best of the video journals from www.wavedreamer.co.uk

“The concept grew out of the frustration in trying to make credible surf movies in the UK. With most filming conditions lasting little more that a day it was worth trying to complete a project in a day! It made sense to choose Woolacombe as the first location as I live here! Looking at the rushes the concept works, so we are now looking forward to Filming other ONEDAYs on other local beaches. Eventualy we will hook up with like minded local crews and work our way around the country!”
